2008 JCF AGM set for Alhambra Inn this Saturday

The 40th Annual General Meeting of the Jamaica Chess Federation, will be held at 1.00 p.m. this Saturday, June 14th, 2008 at the Alhambra Inn, 1 Tucker Avenue, Kingston 6 (off Mountain View Avenue - across from the traffic lights by the National Stadium where Arthur Wint Drive intersects with Mountain View Avenue).


Matters to be dealt with include the Election of the Nomination Committee for the 2008/2010.

The awards ceremony for 2007 will follow the AGM at approximately 3 p.m. and will recognise the winners of tournaments and other top performers during 2007.


One of the most anticipated awards will be Player of the Year, as three players, top junior National Master Brandon Wilson, National Master Jomo Pitterson and FIDE Master Warren Elliott are the main contenders.


Special Guest will be Michael Hylton QC, former Solicitor General of Jamaica.
